About Artist

Sarah Winegar grew up in Springville Utah, and began making art at an early age in the designated art room wedged into the unfinished basement of her childhood home. As she grew she took the contents of the art room outside, to church pews, school classrooms, and traveling journals, always using the people around her as her subjects.

Sarah is now based in Salt Lake City Utah, where she has worked since graduating from the University of Utah in 2017. She is a member of Saltgrass Printmakers where she continues to create in the print medium. She works primarily with relief printing, specializing in reduction woodcuts. Her work is about people, the human form finds itself in every piece regardless of the intent. She has teamed up with her husband Eric to raise their now one-year-old son, who they both swear is a musical prodigy.
